A Primer on Defamation: I’ve Been Defamed, What Are My Rights?

Every so often I get a call from a potential client who wants to litigate against someone for “defaming” them. The caller is generally spitting mad and wants blood. This is usually in the context where the client was the subject of some rant by some aggrieved party where he or she gets cursed at in front of a bunch of others. Think of the homeowner’s association meeting or the school board meeting where somebody stands up and starts swearing up and down that you’re Read More +

Yes, Defective Airbags Are Still Being Sold in New Cars

As incredible as it may seem, the Japanese company Takata cannot keep up with replacing defective airbags that have killed 13 people so far worldwide. Even more incredibly, these airbags, known to be defective, are still being installed in new cars as of June, 2016. This is according to a June 1 New York Times article. The Difference Between Careless Driving and Reckless Driving

Often when I ask a new injury client if the at-fault driver that caused the car crash was given a citation, I hear this: “Yes, he was ticketed for Reckless Driving…” In all likelihood, he was ticketed with Careless Driving, not Reckless Driving, and there’s a world of difference between the two. Most all of us have had lapses of judgment at one time or another on the road – maybe you diverted your attention for a second and rear ended someone you thought had Read More +
